Spice Up Your Next Meal Prep!

Everyone’s biggest complaint is that healthy eating is boring…well I’m here to give you a few ways to spice up your next meal prep. Seasonings are the best way to change things up without adding extra calories.

The staples I use on literally EVERYTHING are onions (fresh chopped or powdered), garlic (fresh or powdered), fresh ground black pepper and a dash of Himalayan sea salt. In my opinion most things taste great with just those four things but if you’re ready for a change, read on.

Italian

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried marjoram

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

1/2 teaspoon dried sage

Fajita

Ingredients:

2 tsp chili powder

½ tsp salt

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp cayenne

½ tsp cumin

Smokey Barbecue

Ingredients:

2 tbsp smoked paprika

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp salt

½ tsp chili powder

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp honey

½ tsp cayenne powder (opt)

These three combos can be used on meat and veggies alike, giving your taste buds something new to discover! You can also double or triple the recipe and have some for later.

I’ll be honest, when it comes to cooking I’m not a big measure nazi. I generally look at a recipe then eyeball/taste test to my liking, but I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen for long enough that I know what flavors I like. That being said, I’ve botched a recipe or two also so it’s always good to find what works for you.
